Morocco

Desert, Medina’s and enough wind to carry you by kitesurf to South America

Morocco challenged us from the moment we arrived.

Not in a bad way.

Just in a way we hadn't experienced before.

The sights, sounds, smells, language, culture and pace of life were unlike anywhere we'd travelled so far. Some days felt magical. Other days felt exhausting.

It was a country of extremes.

One day we were wandering through the chaos of Marrakech's Medina. The next we were standing amongst the dunes of the Sahara Desert. Then suddenly we were surfing in the Atlantic Ocean, riding horses along the beach and watching sunsets over sleepy coastal towns.

Nothing ever felt predictable.

And that's what made Morocco so memorable.

It wasn't always easy. There were cultural differences to navigate, stomach bugs to battle, windy days, disrupted plans and plenty of moments that pushed us outside our comfort zone.

But that's often where the best travel memories are made.

From bustling cities and ancient kasbahs to desert landscapes and rugged coastlines, Morocco gave us experiences we'll be talking about for years to come.

While we created some incredible family memories here, it wasn't a destination we would rush back to.

Essaouira

After the chaos of Marrakech, Essaouira offered a slower pace and a chance to settle into coastal life. Surf lessons, kitesurfing, quad biking through massive sand dunes, and a welcoming surf community became the highlights of our stay, while the constant wind, beachside vendors, and relaxed Moroccan lifestyle gave the town a character all of its own.
