By the time we arrived in Italy, we felt like travellers.

Not tourists.

Not people on a holiday.

Travellers.

We'd already spent months navigating unfamiliar countries, different languages, missed trains, changing plans and the constant challenge of living out of backpacks as a family of four.

Italy felt different.

It felt comfortable.

Whether it was wandering through the historic streets of Sicily, settling into the slower pace of life in Puglia, or cycling along the shores of Lake Garda, Italy gave us the space to stop rushing and simply enjoy where we were.

The food was incredible.

The landscapes constantly surprised us.

And while not every day went to plan, some of our favourite memories from the trip were made here.

From ancient ruins and volcanic landscapes to beach towns, mountain villages and lakeside sunsets, Italy became much more than a destination.

For 55 days, it felt like home.
