Lake Garda
Lake Garda became one of our favourite regions in Italy. From historic lakeside towns like Lazise, Bardolino, Garda, and Peschiera del Garda to ferry rides, bike paths, Verona day trips, and epic days at Movieland, the area perfectly balanced outdoor adventure, Italian lifestyle, and relaxed family travel.
Lecce
Lecce quickly became one of the most visually impressive cities we visited in Italy. Known as the “Florence of the South,” this historic city in Puglia was filled with golden limestone buildings, Baroque architecture, relaxed piazzas, incredible food, and a slower pace of life that instantly drew us in.
Bari
Bari surprised us in the best way. Rainy arrival and luggage dramas aside, this historic port city quickly became one of our favourite stops in southern Italy. From wandering the narrow laneways of Bari Vecchia to eating way too much focaccia and stumbling across street car racing by the waterfront, Bari felt authentic, social, and full of life.
